Have you been to BottleRocket? The Shoalhaven's only over 21's cocktail bar is serving up a storm of fine drinks, excellent food, craft beer and great music from Thursday to Sunday on Kinghorne street in Nowra.
We caught up with the new owner and cocktail mixing genius, Danielle Solway to learn more, & find out the safe way to party with COVID-19 restrictions
IT'S A FAMILY BUSINESS
Bottlerocket's chic interior is a perfect spot to while away a few evening hours with friends. Owner & licencee, Danielle, took over the business in January with her partner Ian & despite dealing with the aftermath of fires, floods and COVID-19, she is all smiles. Keeping her customers happy & the Bottlerocket spirit alive, is what keeps her going.
"Closing our doors after the first COVID-19 restrictions was heart breaking, but the encouragement of friends, family & the locals kept the team going." Now the bar is going from strength to strength, operating under the new restrictions. As a trained COVID-safe marshal, Danielle, is making sure that patrons are safe & are aware of all the precautions in place. "It's hard to tell people they must stay seated, but our customers are amazing. Eeryone wants to do the right thing so we all stay safe & the bar can stay open."
With a passion for the hospitality industry, Danielle & her family have transformed Bottlerocket into a vibrant evening venue, with live music on Friday & Saturday nights. The cocktail menu is immense & constantly evolving as Danielle & her sister Jade work on new variations using fresh ingredients. You can drink Long Island Ice Tea from a glass, or if you are feeling thirsty, try a glass cocktail teapot for just $20!
The bar also serves canned craft ale &a wide selection of premium spirits, with plans to stock products from local distilleries in the near future. Did we mention the food? With pizza, baked brie & cheese boards, you have all the ingredients of a great night out under one roof.
HOW TO HELP
What could be easier? Plan a night out for up to 10 friends! With restrictions on occupancy, it's a good idea to book a table or booth (yes, they have booths) in advance to avoid disappointment. If they are fully booked, don't despair, Bottlerocket operates a reserve list and as soon as a table is free, the helpful staff will give you a call!
