Businesses will now only need to demonstrate a significant fall in turnover for the previous quarter compared to the same period last year. I.e:
To be eligible for Oct to Dec, businesses will need to meet the decline in turnover test in the September Quarter
To be eligible for Jan to Mar, businesses will need to meet the decline in turnover test in the December Quarter
Commissioner will also allow 'late' payments to employees
Previously, businesses and not-for-profits seeking JobKeeper from September 28 to January 3 had to show a significant fall in turnover in both the June and September quarters. We only need to show the fall in one quarter now.
Staff who were employed from 1st March to 1st July will also now be able to access the program. No change to casuals has been announced.
This change was mainly designed to cushion the economic sledgehammer blow of Victoria’s outbreak but is a nationwide change.
